Sven was born in Sundsvall, Sweden but grew up in the United States, living in the Chicago area and in Boulder, Colorado for the longest periods of a nomadic existence. He has traveled extensively overseas and this experience finds its way into his comedy.

Schooled as a newspaper journalist (schooled - as in educated, not as in "totally dissed by the hipper more urban journalists"), Sven entered the world of comedy through improv, sketch and drug induced confusion, studying at the Second City and Improv Olympic in Chicago. When he realized how annoying improvisers were, he started doing standup.

He has recently sobered up and moved to New York in order to fight terrorism in the form of religious fundamentalism. Mostly, he just tells jokes and funny anecdotes.
